I saved this moth from death-by-Liesel earlier this morning. She spotted it in the shadows behind some ivy, then promptly brought it inside. Wherein I promptly pulled her away, cupped it in my hands, and brought it back outside.
I let it teeter onto our wooden shed, high above the cat, who sat attentively mewing below. The moth flapped it’s wings, revealing orange and purple spots, then took a few steps, and flapped it’s wings some more.
I was able to snap one photo, alas with the wings closed, before it flew off into the sun toward the hillside and distant castle.
