what do you think of the name? i came up with it, randomly one day and within an hour or so had purchased the domain and linked my newly designed blog to it. i like it, i guess. but i picked it more because i couldn’t really come up with anything better. and i did not want to use my name, as so many photographers do. i find that boring. ever since studying photography in italy, (back in college), i’ve always had an affinity for the spelling of “photo” with an “f” instead of a “ph.” so, when i found out that the german spelling of “photography” also used the “f” i was happy to use it. thus, Haus Frau Fotografie was born.
amid catching up on various podcasts today, now that the olympics are over, i’m also working on my photos from berlin. all 400+ of them. the first museum i visited there was the Museum für Naturkunde where i shot many many photos…of which, i haven’t yet decided whether to categorize under curiosities as a separate gallery or within the berlin gallery in travel. at any rate, one of my favorite pics from that trip–if not one of my most favorite ever–is this one, of an entomological display of butterflies and moths in the museum…
